The Sultan is the one who holds the ‘sulta’, the power, the control of the place. In the Alhambra, they knew this and took luxury and decoration to the highest level of expression. Now the walls speak and recite poetry, the arches that once intertwined are now adorned with flowers, fruits, and hearts. It’s now impossible to tell where the material begins and ends. There is something of this in the Sultan hoops, where you can’t tell if the arch holds the apples or if they grow from the trunk.

The Caliph is the emir of the emirs, the highest political and religious representative of the land, and the sovereign of all believers. Each and every one of us is a caliph to some extent. With the Caliphate came the brightest moment in al-Andalus. People from the most remote places on the planet came to Córdoba just to visit the local scholars, see the fashion trends, attend concerts, or seek medical consultation. The Caliph’s hoops represent all of that and much more, with their architectural forms, lights and shadows, the arches that unfold and fill with fantasy. A whole architectural imagery that will never disappear from our minds.

Emirs laid the foundations that today we recover in LOA. That´s why we designed these hoops earrings, simple and sophisticated, with the perfect measures to illuminate four face but just being like a small seed of what is coming.
